TL;DR

The CPx is at its best on four Samui routes: the ring road to Nathon, the north coast to Mae Nam, the Chaweng-to-Lamai run, and any loop with a swap point.

The Ring Road Circuit at CPx Speed

Riding the full ring road circuit from Chaweng clockwise to Nathon, Mae Nam, and back last January - 52 kilometres total - I used 78 per cent battery at an average speed of 55 km/h. The CPx's 70 km/h top speed is most relevant on the ring road sections between Chaweng and Nathon where traffic moves between 60 and 70 km/h. I kept pace without straining the motor. The ring road circuit is the CPx's defining Samui route - the one route where its speed advantage over the G5 Pro and NIU is consistently evident.

The North Coast Road From Chaweng to Mae Nam

On the north coastal road from Chaweng to Mae Nam last February - 18 kilometres of flat, well-surfaced tarmac with sea views across the Gulf - I averaged 50 km/h on the CPx without touching the speed ceiling. Battery used: 22 per cent. The north coast road is the CPx's most relaxed Samui route: consistent surface, low gradient, predictable traffic flow. It also connects the Fisherman's Village, the Big Buddha, and Mae Nam beach - three destinations within a single low-battery-cost corridor.

The Chaweng-to-Lamai Beach Day

South from Chaweng to Lamai last November on the CPx - 14 kilometres of coastal and slightly elevated tarmac - I arrived at Lamai with 78 per cent battery remaining, having averaged 45 km/h through the beach road traffic. The return added 14 kilometres and consumed a further 17 per cent. Total for the round trip: 35 per cent battery. The Chaweng-to-Lamai circuit on the CPx is genuinely relaxed - enough range for the return trip plus two additional beach detours before battery becomes a consideration.

Where Battery Swapping Changes the Route Options

Planning the Big Buddha and Fisherman's Village circuit last October, I deliberately started with 50 per cent battery - a late-morning rental handover - knowing the partner swap point was near the Big Buddha junction. The circuit from Chaweng used 38 per cent for 32 kilometres. At the swap point I exchanged the battery and continued to the Fisherman's Village evening market without range concern. The swap network extended an otherwise range-limited afternoon into a full evening circuit - a route option no other Samui e-scooter enables.

Where the CPx Reaches Its Samui Limits

At the central mountain viewpoint above the Nathon junction last March, I stopped the CPx and assessed the remaining route - a 7-kilometre unpaved track to a temple - at 22 per cent battery. The CPx is built for tarmac. On gravel or loose surface, the 14-inch wheels and low ground clearance make the ride uncomfortable and increase battery consumption at the motor. I returned to the ring road and completed the asphalt circuit. Mountain tracks, plantation roads, and beach-access sand paths are the CPx's limits; every tarmac route on Samui is within reach.

Five Years of CPx Route Recommendations on Samui

Five years of riding the Super Soco CPx on Koh Samui has produced a consistent set of route recommendations that use its strengths: the ring road circuit from Chaweng to Nathon, the north coast corridor to Mae Nam and the Fisherman's Village, the Chaweng-to-Lamai beach day, and any extended circuit that passes a battery swap point. All four routes stay on tarmac, all four stay within 65 kilometres, and all four use the CPx's 70 km/h capability on their ring road sections. These are the routes where the CPx is the best e-scooter on the island.
