Safety-first travel blogger and practical rental guide
I came to Koh Samui from St Petersburg in 2019 expecting sun and beaches. What I got was an island that tests your confidence every day - on wet mountain roads, in chaotic town traffic, and on coastal routes where the views distract you from the potholes. I learned to ride properly here. It changed how I think about travel.
My focus is practical: who should rent which vehicle, what to do when it rains, how to handle the insurance question, and how to navigate Samui's roads safely as a first-timer. I've made most of the beginner mistakes so you don't have to.
Six years in, I still use a scooter as my main transport. I know the rental market well, I know which models are forgiving for new riders, and I know exactly what to look for when you pick up a bike at the shop. That's what my writing is built on.
