I ran the Myra from Chaweng along the full north coast to Nathon and back twice last March, logging 165 kilometres before the warning - remarkably close to the claimed 180 km. On flat coastal tarmac the dual battery delivers genuinely big numbers. That figure dwarfs every other electric in our fleet; where most manage a single loop, the Myra clears the island several times over. For Samui's real distances, this is range you will struggle to actually exhaust in one day.
Lifting the Myra's seat reveals two large removable lithium packs totalling 51 Ah - the biggest capacity in the fleet by a clear margin. Carrying one indoors to charge at my Mae Nam apartment last season, I appreciated that you can refill them away from the bike. The swappable design, inherited from the Myra's delivery-machine roots, means a shop with spare charged packs could swap rather than wait. That is professional-grade battery flexibility on a rental e-scooter, and it shows in the range.
I timed the Myra from near-empty at my guesthouse: roughly two and a half hours to full, which is astonishing for 51 Ah of capacity. Most large-battery electrics make you wait far longer - the Horwin EK3 takes around five hours for less range. The Myra's quick fill means even after a 150 km day, an evening at your accommodation fully resets it. Few machines combine this much range with a charge time short enough to top up over a single long lunch.
Climbing the Myra to the Lamai viewpoint and pushing into the interior last April, I watched the range fall faster than on flat coast - gradient is the great equaliser for any electric here. Expect nearer 150 km than 180 on a hill-heavy, high-speed day, and a little less in the worst afternoon heat. These are honest deductions, not weaknesses; even trimmed, the Myra's real-world range remains comfortably the longest of any electric rental I have tested on the island.
Holding the Myra at a brisk pace on the open western ring road last season, I saw the battery drain quicker than at a gentle cruise - sustained speed always costs electrons. The flip side is that the Myra has so much range in reserve that you can ride it briskly and still finish the day with margin. Where a smaller pack forces you to ration speed, the Myra lets you enjoy its performance without constantly watching the gauge fall.
Drawing my measurements together, the Myra delivers close to 180 km on flat coast, around 150 km on a demanding day, and a full charge in roughly 2.5 hours - figures no other electric in our fleet approaches. For Koh Samui that combination is unmatched: enough range to ignore the gauge, and a charge quick enough to top up over a meal. With the Etran Myra, range anxiety is genuinely a thing of the past.
