TL;DR

Get the most from the Myra by feeding its power in smoothly, respecting its weight at low speed, trusting the rear ABS in the wet, and planning ambitious long routes its 180 km range was built to swallow.

Feeding the Power in Smoothly

The first time I opened the Myra's throttle hard out of a Chaweng junction, the 7000-watt surge caught me out - this is no gentle commuter. I quickly learned to roll the power on progressively rather than snatching it, which makes the Myra feel fast yet planted. Smooth throttle inputs are how you get the best from it: feed the power in, let the front settle, and the machine rewards you with strong, controlled acceleration instead of a jerky, nervous launch on Samui's busy roads.

Respecting the Weight at Low Speed

Paddling the Myra around a tight Nathon market lane last season, I felt its weight - this is a substantial machine, not a flickable town scooter. The trick is to keep a little momentum and use the steering rather than muscling it upright. At walking pace, plan your line, avoid getting boxed in, and let the bike roll. Once you respect its mass in car parks and tight turns, the same weight that feels awkward slow becomes reassuring stability at road speed.

Trusting the ABS in the Wet

Coming down a slick Lamai gradient in light rain last April, I braked firmly and let the Myra's rear ABS do its job rather than feathering nervously. Getting the most from this safety feature means trusting it: in the wet, brake with conviction and let the system manage lock-up. Riders who tiptoe the brakes in the rain actually stop less effectively. The Myra's ABS is there to be used - lean on it when the roads are greasy and it repays the confidence.

Planning Routes Worthy of the Range

I waste the Myra if I only ride it to one beach, so I plan ambitiously - the full ring road, a southern viewpoint, a north-coast detour, all in a day. Its 180 km range is meant to be used, and the machine feels happiest covering ground. Sketch a route last thing each night that genuinely stretches your legs, and the Myra turns it into an easy day. Give it distance to eat and it rewards you far more than short town hops do.

Keeping the Batteries Happy

Charging a Myra pack in shade rather than the brutal afternoon sun is a small habit that protects its range over a long rental. I always charge indoors or in shade, use only the supplied charger, and let a warm pack settle before riding hard. Samui's heat is tough on batteries; treat them kindly and the Myra holds its full 180 km. Neglect them in the sun and you slowly lose range - a easy mistake to avoid with a little care.

Getting the Best From It Overall

Putting it together, you get the most from the Etran Myra by riding it like the serious machine it is: smooth power, respect for its weight, trust in the ABS, ambitious routes, and gentle battery care. Ride it that way and it delivers performance, safety, and range that no other electric in our fleet matches. The Myra rewards a thinking, confident rider - give it your skill and attention, and it gives Koh Samui back to you whole.
