I ride these rises at a steady, unhurried pace, two-up if needed, and the engine simply gets on with it. The 125 struggles on exactly these gradients. For anyone wanting to reach Samui's hilltop temples and sea-view car parks without a straining engine, these climbs are precisely where the 160 belongs.
On busy Chaweng evenings I thread the Click 160 through the beach-road crowds as easily as any compact scooter. Its light 114 kg and low seat make walking-pace filtering relaxed, and the smooth low-end power means no lurching between the stalled cars. The 160 is just as at home in dense town traffic as on the open road, which is why I happily recommend it for riders whose days mix nightlife runs with island touring.
I keep the Click 160 on sealed roads and tell renters the same, because it is a road scooter, not an adventure bike. Its small wheels and modest 140 mm clearance are wrong for the rutted dirt tracks behind Wat Plai Laem that tempt ADV riders. Ridden on tarmac it is superb; pointed up a loose jungle trail it quickly finds its limits. The 160's territory is Samui's paved network, from town streets to hill roads.
Along the quieter north coast between Maenam and Bophut, I like the Click 160 for unhurried café-hopping with the option of pace when I want it. I have linked the Bang Po seafood strip, the Secret Buddha Garden turn, and Fisherman's Village at a relaxed clip, climbing the little rises between them without thought. This gentler side of Samui suits the 160's easygoing nature while still giving its torque the occasional short hill to stretch on.
Across Samui, the Click 160 rewards the island's paved variety: the Ring Road, the temple climbs, the town streets, and the north-coast café run. I steer it away only from dirt and deep off-road, where its road setup has no answer. Plan a 160 day around Samui's sealed hills and coasts and it handles all of them with the same unfussed competence - the true do-it-all scooter for riders who stay on tarmac.
