TL;DR

The Click 125's best Samui runs stay under 35 km: the Chaweng coastal loop, the Lamai temples circuit, the Nathon west coast road and the Big Buddha loop.

The Chaweng Coastal Loop: Click 125 at Home

Riding the Chaweng coastal road early on a Tuesday morning last February, I mapped the 12-kilometre loop from the south end of Chaweng beach to the Fisherman's Village in Bo Phut - a coastal circuit that stays below 50 km/h for most of its length and has no meaningful gradient until the small headland above Choeng Mon. The Click 125 completes this loop on 0.28 litres of fuel. For a daily beach-to-coffee-shop-to-market routine, this route is the Click 125's natural territory.

Lamai Beach and the Southern Temples Circuit

The circuit from Chaweng south to Lamai - 14 kilometres on the ring road - and back via the southern temple at Wat Khunaram makes a half-day that I covered last November in under two hours including a 30-minute temple stop. The ring road section at 65 to 70 km/h is within the Click 125's comfort range; the gradient south of Lamai is manageable at 55 km/h. Total circuit: 28 kilometres, fuel cost approximately 20 baht. For budget riders wanting cultural stops without distance anxiety, this route delivers.

Nathon Market and the West Coast Road

The west coast road from the Chaweng junction to Nathon is 22 kilometres of mostly flat coastal tarmac. I rode it on the Click 125 last December, arriving at Nathon market at 9 a.m. after a 40-minute ride. The Click 125 held 65 km/h on the open sections without visible effort; the single coastal gradient above the rubber plantation at the 14-kilometre mark slowed it to 55 km/h - notable but not uncomfortable. The Nathon market makes an excellent Click 125 destination: covered parking, food stalls, and the return trip runs mostly downhill.

The Big Buddha and Fisherman's Village Circuit

From central Chaweng to the Big Buddha temple via the northern road last March: 12 kilometres, one moderate hill climb, total fuel use 0.28 litres on the Click 125. Adding the Fisherman's Village in Bo Phut for the evening market extended the day to 19 kilometres. The Click 125 parked in the Fisherman's Village car park between two larger scooters with enough margin to roll out without asking anyone to move. This circuit - Big Buddha, Fisherman's Village, back to Chaweng - is the Click 125's ideal single-day tourism route.

Where the Click 125 Reaches Its Limits on Samui

On the mountain road above Nathon last October I turned around at the first viewpoint rather than continuing to the summit - the Click 125's 125cc engine had been at full throttle for 800 metres of climb and the gradient steepened ahead. This is the Click 125's honest boundary: it manages the gradients of the ring road and coastal roads reliably, but the mountain road above the Nathon junction is better suited to the ADV 160 or NMAX. Knowing where to turn around is part of matching the machine to the day's plan.

My Click 125 Day Trip Recommendations After Five Years on Samui

Five years of riding Koh Samui's roads on various machines - including many days specifically on the Click 125 - has produced a reliable short list for this scooter: the Chaweng coastal loop, the Lamai and southern temple circuit, the west coast road to Nathon market, and the Big Buddha plus Fisherman's Village combination. All four stay within 35 kilometres, avoid the steepest gradients, and return on the same day without fuel planning. The Click 125 is not a touring scooter - it is a daily convenience machine for exactly these destinations.
