TL;DR

Charge the Saber Tiger overnight at your accommodation as the default; for daytime top-ups use café and restaurant sockets, and lean on its removable dual packs to charge indoors while you ride or rest.

Why Your Guesthouse Socket Comes First

I charge every Saber Tiger I ride overnight at my Bo Phut guesthouse, and I tell renters to do the same. A standard Thai wall socket fills both packs in 2-3 hours, so plugging in after dinner means a full 150 km of range by morning. There is no public fast-charging network for e-scooters on Samui, and there does not need to be - your accommodation's ordinary socket is the single most reliable charge point on the island. Make it your habit and range never bites.

The Removable-Battery Advantage

Lifting the Saber Tiger's seat to carry a pack indoors is the trick I rely on most. Because the dual batteries are removable, I have charged them in a Lamai café and a Mae Nam apartment while the scooter sat outside in the heat. If your room is upstairs or the bike parks far from a socket, you can bring the electrons to the wall instead of the wall to the bike - a flexibility the fleet's sealed-battery models cannot match.

Café and Restaurant Top-Ups

Stopping for a long lunch at a Maenam beach café last March, I asked to plug a pack in by my table and the owner waved me through - a small purchase makes it easy. Samui's café culture is relaxed about a polite charging request, especially over a meal. A 90-minute lunch recovers a useful chunk of range, so I treat eating stops as charging stops. It costs the price of a coffee and turns idle time into free kilometres for the afternoon.

Planning Charges Around the South

Riding the quieter south around Thong Krut and Taling Ngam last season, I learned to charge before heading out rather than hoping for a socket down there. The south coast has fewer cafés and longer empty stretches than the busy east, so I top the Saber Tiger to full in Chaweng or Lamai first. With 150 km of dual-battery range that single full charge easily covers a southern loop and the return, no mid-route charging needed at all.

What to Avoid When Charging

I once left a pack charging in direct midday sun on a Chaweng balcony and the charger ran hot - a mistake worth avoiding. Charge the Saber Tiger's batteries in shade, indoors where you can, and never leave them baking in Samui's afternoon heat. Use only the supplied charger, and do not unplug and ride off with a half-warm pack you have not let settle. Treat the batteries gently in the tropical climate and they reward you with their full rated range.

My Simple Charging Routine

After many island days my Saber Tiger routine is boringly reliable: full charge overnight at the guesthouse, a top-up pack carried indoors during long lunches, and a pre-departure fill before any southern run. I have never hunted for a charger or cut a day short. Because the dual packs are removable and fill in 2-3 hours, charging the AJ EV Saber Tiger on Koh Samui is genuinely a non-issue - a habit, not a hurdle, once you settle into it.
